Degree and area of specialization:

A minimum BS/BA degree is preferred although not required for this position.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

A minimum of two years experience in a business or administrative managerial setting. Training or experience working in an academic department strongly preferred, but not required.

At least three years's experience in a human resources and payroll management role. Requires knowledge of campus human resources (including HRS highly preferred), budgetary and finance regulations and sponsored grants management, along with VISA support for foreign nationals. At least three years managing support staff or other subordinate staff.

Position Summary:

This position serves as the primary resource for the Department of Surgical Sciences (DSS), School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) faculty, staff and student on department, sschool and university policies and procedures for all general administrative functions. This position is responsible for the oversight and managment of daily administrative activities in a variety of areas including instructional and research areas ranging from all financial procedures for payroll/human resource to understanding sponsored grant issues.
