CUSTODIAN


Position Summary:
These positions performs a variety of custodial tasks required in the routine cleaning and maintenance of university buildings. Moderately heavy physical effort is required for some tasks such as floor scrubbing, emptying rubbish containers, moving furniture and equipment, etc. Occasional unscheduled overtime may be required for snow removal and/or emergency cleanup.

Work settings may include: office buildings, classrooms, dining facilities, athletic facilities, laboratories, healthcare facilities, student center buildings, conference centers, hotel guestrooms and other locations.

Requirements:

Some positions require a valid driver's license which meets UW Risk Management Standards.

Some positions require the ability to communicate in English orally or both orally and in writing.

Some positions require interacting with guests/conference attendees and require strong customer service skills.

A criminal background check will be conducted on job finalists before employment is offered.

Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is required to conduct Post-Offer Pre-Employment screenings on all selected candidates for Custodial positions. In the event you are required to work in or around animal facilities, you will be enrolled in the appropriate medical surveillance program.
