Depending on Qualifications
Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required. Master's degree preferred.
A focus on fitness, wellness, exercise science, recreation, sports administration, higher education, or related field is preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of two (2) years professional experience in the fitness field, including strength & conditioning, personal training, and/or group fitness experience is preferred.
Experience with fitness program planning and implementation, and the ability to demonstrate safe, effective exercise techniques is preferred.
Experience in supervision of part time and/or student staff is preferred.
Demonstrated leadership in customer service, communication, and problem solving skills are required.

Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Fitness is a full-time employee who works in conjunction with one additional Coordinator of Fitness under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Fitness. This person coordinates aspects of the fitness program, which includes group fitness, personal training, group training, team performance training, strength & conditioning, fitness assessment, fitness outreach, and wellbeing initiatives throughout the University community in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Wellbeing. This person works as part of the fitness team to set program goals & design, and to research trends which support the mission, vision, & values of the Division. The Coordinator of Fitness has a role in the management and oversight of the fitness budget. This person will supervise one professional intern in conjunction with the other Coordinator of Fitness, and will also directly supervise approximately 70 student employees.
