COMPENSATION ANALYST


Position Summary:
UW-Madison has over 35,000 faculty and staff located in 32 colleges, schools, and divisions. Employees' functions span most occupational areas with backgrounds covering the full spectrum. This position is integral in supporting human resource programs that allow the university to attract, hire, and retain talent in all positions.
This position is located within the Compensation and Titling office and reports to the Compensation and Title Director. This position functions as a human resource consultant in the Compensation and Titling office of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Office of Human Resources (OHR).
The position responsibilities include serving as a consultant on The Titling and Total Compensation Project as a representative of the Compensation and Titling Team. The University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin System are engaged in a redesign of job title and compensation structures. The Title and Total Compensation (TTC) Project will result in relevant and market-informed titles to help us keep and grow our outstanding workforce. This position will serve a key role in this redesign including the development, execution, and implementation of compensation and titling programs. This position will also participate in extensive collaboration with HR colleagues (internal and external) and stakeholders (governance, managers/supervisors, employees, etc.) from across campus.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree in personnel/HR management, public administration, business/management, or related field preferred OR equivalent experience

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Experience in higher education preferred.
Preferred qualifications include experience and knowledge with compensation principles and practices, ability to apply analytical skills in the conduct of compensation studies, knowledge and experience with titling strategies/structures, ability to solve problems in a complex environment; experience providing excellent customer service, experience creating, enhancing, and/or administering base pay programs, experience conducting organizational-wide market analysis, and comfort with ambiguity.
