Minimum $43,432 Maximum $79,749 ANNUAL (12 months)

Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's Degree required; preferred fields include Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Human Ecology, or Education. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

A minimum of 3 years work experience in public child welfare, specifically in applying, implementing and/or supervising Wisconsin's Safety Intervention Model for Child Protective Services decision making, is required. Applicants must have demonstrated success developing and implementing strategies in adult education and/or staff development and in engaging individuals and groups in learning. This position requires the ability to work both collaboratively as part of the broader statewide Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development system and independently.

Ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and skills:
-Extensive knowledge of Wisconsin's model for safety assessment and safety intervention in child protective services
-Substantial knowledge of statutes and standards governing child welfare services in Wisconsin and best practice literature
-Substantial knowledge of adult learning concepts and methodologies
-Demonstrated skill in applying Wisconsin's model for safety assessment and safety intervention in child protective services
-Strong technical writing skills
-Strong verbal presentation and group facilitation skills
-Excellent active listening and engagement skills
-Demonstrated management and leadership abilities

Position Summary:

This position will report to the Director of the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System. The Child Welfare Safety Curriculum Coordinator will promote and foster critical thinking skills related to child safety within the statewide Child Welfare Professional Development System. This position oversees a staff of two training specialists as well as contracted staff targeting safety-related competency development within each of Wisconsin's 72 counties.
