Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major studies in accounting, business, finance or related fields is required. MBA, CPA or related advanced degree is preferred.

10 years of progressively greater experience in financial accounting and management required, including a demonstrated knowledge of modern financial systems.

Position Summary:

The Division of Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum facilities management organization for a campus with nearly 400 buildings and 936 acres. FP&M's mission is to provide excellence in facilities and services for our university community.

Under the direction of the FP&M Deputy Associate Vice Chancellor, the FP&M Chief Financial Officer provides financial management leadership and oversight for an organization with annual budgets of approximately $250 million and capital projects in excess of $70 million. This position will supervise all aspects of FP&M's financial operations, including the development of operating budgets and financial reports for seven operating areas; oversee the capital cost accounting function for numerous construction projects with multiple funding sources; monitor financial performance and conduct financial analyses to inform operational resource allocations; and lead efforts to ensure strong internal financial controls.

Additional Information:
Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and planning in a large, complex organization.

Experience developing and maintaining strong internal financial controls, including oversight of regulatory requirements, auditing, and risk management.

Experience with capital budgeting, cash flow management, and operating budgets strongly preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of cash and accrual-based financial reports, government accounting, purchasing, billing, accounts payable, cost allocation, and cost recovery modeling.

Excellent abstract reasoning skills with a proven ability to identify and analyze complex financial situations and recommend effective courses of action to organization leadership.

Previous supervisory experience required, including the ability to coach, mentor, and support staff in creating a positive and inclusive work environment.

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills along with a record of accomplishment establishing effective working relationships with multiple constituencies.

Demonstrated ability to respond to daily challenges while staying focused on long-term goals.
