Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelors degree required, preferred in a field such as Data Science, Informatics, Computer Science, or Engineering
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with a wide variety of people
Familiarity with Tableau, Qlik, OBIEE, or similar to present data
Desirable skills and qualifications (ability and interest in learning)
Experience working with student records, accounting records, and business processes
Write SQL queries to extract desired data
Build web reporting tools using PHP, HTML, SQL, etc.
Understanding of existing data sources on UW campus - HRS, InfoAccess, DARS, SFS
License or Certificate:
Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to consult with customers to understand, analyze, and document business processes within the College of Engineering. This position will also advise on best uses of various institutional data sources, and provide data analysis to optimize existing processes and decision making. Ideally, this position will also have web development skills or a willingness to learn.
Additional Information:
Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) is the computer support organization in the College of Engineering. Supporting student computing needs for instruction is the primary focus, but CAE also provides foundational computing support for all aspects of the college.
