Degree and area of specialization:

Bachelor's degree in business-related field is strongly preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Five (5) years of business, accounting or financial management experience which includes grant and contract experience. Audit experience strongly preferred.

Position Summary:

The Audit Coordinator provides support to Research and Sponsored Programs and the Schools and Colleges at the University by coordinating sponsored project audits, site visits, and financial investigations from Federal sponsors, nonfederal sponsors, internal and external auditors and others. The Audit Coordinator serves as the primary point person regarding the overall audit processes for extramural funds, providing leadership throughout the audit process. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling various audit related meetings, providing documentation and responses to auditor inquiries, reviewing and responding to draft audit findings, and organizing correspondence and reports. Additionally, the Audit Coordinator serves as the primary point person for subrecipient risk assessment and monitoring.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) is responsible for administration of the extramural research grants and contracts. RSP currently manages an open portfolio of over $4 Billion with annual expenditures greater than $1 Billion.
