Degree and area of specialization:
Master's degree required; Ed.D. or Ph.D. preferred. Applicants with a professional degree or research experience in teacher education or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
* Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in educator preparation or related field.
* Demonstrated commitment to the preparation of teachers to promote educational equity, excellence and inclusivity in P-12 schools.
* Successful experience with budget management, hiring, supervising and leading professional development.
* Ability to effectively manage multiple, often complex projects with overlapping timeframes and deadlines.
* A collaborative management style, an ability to work closely and transparently with administrative and academic staff, as well as the Faculty Director, coupled with an ability to demonstrate leadership and work independently as required by the task.
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including the confidence, sensitivity, and discretion to work diplomatically and effectively with a wide variety of faculty, administrators, academic and classified staff, and students at all levels of the university, as well as with, school and community partners, and the general public; and the capacity to form and sustain purposeful relationships and networks.
* Computer skills (preferably Microsoft Word; Excel) and an ability to learn campus systems for fund management.
* Willingness to work occasionally on evenings and weekends.
* Intellectual curiosity.
* Attention to detail.
* Resourcefulness, demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills, and a keen sense of priorities.

Position Summary:
UW-Madison's top-ranked School of Education (SoE) is creating a new Teacher Education Center to transform and uplift the preparation of teachers to promote educational excellence and equity in P-12 schools, in Wisconsin and nationally. This work will be accomplished through: (1) providing support to further enhance the quality and coherence of UW-Madison's existing teacher preparation programs; (2) promoting the development and evaluation of new teacher education programs that are high quality, grounded in research, and focused on equity and excellence; (3) providing leadership to inform teacher education policies that contribute to high achievement and equitable educational outcomes for P-12 students; and (4) supporting research to inform and improve the preparation of teachers who are well-equipped to promote excellence and equity in educational outcomes for P-12 students.

We are seeking a full-time Associate Director who possesses a deep understanding of teacher education. We seek a dynamic individual and proven leader who can effectively administer the staff and operations of our newly formed Teacher Education Center; communicate passion for the importance of high quality preparation of teachers in pursuing excellence and equity in educational outcomes for P-12 students to a diverse constituency within and outside of the academy; and enhance local and national awareness of the Center. The Associate Director is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administration of the center, and field experience office, including its financial affairs. This person reports to the Faculty Director and shares responsibility for long term planning and policy with the Faculty Director.
