Position Summary:
Summary:

Tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level specializing in fermentation sciences bridging basic science to the applied. Potential research areas include, but are not limited to: 1) microbial transformation of bioresources; 2) genetic manipulation or characterization of fermentation microflora; 3) fermentation applied to advancing human health or environmental conditions; and 4) dairy-related fermentation.

Duties:

Incumbent must:
1) develop a strong, independent, extramurally-funded research program;
2) teach an undergraduate course in food fermentation and develop an advanced graduate level course in his/her area of expertise;
3) develop collaborative relationships in research and instructional programs within Food Science and the University; and
4) contribute to outreach/extension and service functions of the Department, College, University and professional societies.
