Function:

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in Education, works closely with, and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program, teaches marriage and family therapy courses in the graduate program, and supervises practicum and internship students in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. 

Responsibilities:

1. Teach graduate marriage and family therapy (MFT) courses and other courses in the graduate program as needed.
2. Serves as the Clinical Director of the MFT Program, which has responsibility for coordinating off-campus clinical placements, developing affiliation agreements, training site supervisors, conducting site visits, managing clinical evaluation processes, tracking progress towards completion of clinical training requirements, and developing remediation plans when required.
3. Supervise practicum and internship students in the Marriage and Family Therapy program, mentor graduate students.
4. Monitor academic progress of students.
5. Develop student growth plans as needed.
6. Serve on thesis committees.
7. Serve on the Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Board, and counseling team.
8. Assist in ensuring that the MFT program complies with accreditation standards.
9. Help oversee the implementation of the MFT assessment plan.
10. Attend state/national meetings related to the MFT program as needed.
11. Assist with student recruitment for the counseling program.
12. Serves on MFT admissions committee, participate in departmental activities and governance (i.e. Attend faculty assemblies, professional development days, retreats, committees, advising.)
13. Active involvement in appropriate professional and scholarly activities including research, participation in state, regional and national professional associations.

Qualifications:

• Earned Doctorate in marriage and family therapy, psychology or closely related field. (ABD candidates with an anticipated graduation date before July 2019 will be considered).
• Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
• Clinical Fellow status with American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and Approved Supervisor status with AAMFT (supervisor candidates will be considered).
• University level teaching experience desirable.
• A minimum of three years of experience as an MFT.
• Experience providing clinical supervision.
• Familiarity with integration of technology in education.
• A personal commitment to the Christian faith and to the integration of faith and learning.
• Demonstrated awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communications across multiple dimensions of diversity including, but not limited to race, gender, physical limitations, class or religious perspectives.
