Vice President for Enrollment
The Vice President will be a strong mentor and leader for the enrollment staff and will bring
creativity and new technologies into the formulation of enrollment strategies to the position. She/he
will be a team-builder and be able to unify and engage multiple constituencies across campus to
achieve enrollment growth, effectively manage discount rate, and improve retention rates.
Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills in using data and information effectively in
planning and decision-making. Much of the college’s institutional research is run through the
registrar’s office, and the Vice President will guide internal data analysis and the utilization of thirdparty survey instruments. Familiarity with Jenzabar would be beneficial. Experience leveraging
institutional financial aid is required. The Vice President leads Cornish’s retention task force, and
therefore candidates should be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of best practices in student retention. As the college approaches its centennial and a corresponding branding initiative, the Vice President will serve as a crucial partner to the communications staff, alumni relations, and
institutional advancement and will be knowledgeable about the relationship of recruitment marketing to institutional marketing.
The ideal candidate will have ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in a
successful enrollment management program. While experience at an arts institution is not required, an appreciation for the admission process for creative arts students is, as is a deep understanding of niche marketing and meeting targeted enrollment goals within a narrow margin for individual academic programs.
A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Salary is competitive and
commensurate with experience and ability.
The position is available effective June 1, 2013 or sooner. Applications will be screened as received beginning February 1, 2013.
