Brief Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI), the Technology Coordinator and Systems Administrator advises on application analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, maintenance, and support of CCI systems, the CCI web presence, and online access to CCI resources. This position collaborates closely all CCI staff as well as with ITS, College Advancement, and College Communications to develop and support access to CCI resources and technology. The Technology Coordinator and Systems Administrator will also collect and report data in a meaningful and accurate manner, producing regular reports in a clear and consistent format.

Essential Functions:

Technology and Innovation
Establish and maintain protocols and processes for office technology.
Maintain website.
Manages implementation of functionality in CCIs primary SaaS product, Symplicity CSM, and provides strategic and technical support to the platform administrators in CCI; documents processes, procedures, and proposes improvements; recognizes and troubleshoots problems.
Analyze technological needs for CCI as they apply to overall goals and strategy, recommending innovations as appropriate.
In collaboration with ITS colleagues, investigate, report, and make recommendations on vendor assessment and for equipment and software upgrades, including new web and social media tools, applications, or features available externally and within the College to support or enhance programs, services, and new initiatives.
Provide or arrange training in new applications and systems, increasing general skill level and educating staff on functionalities for streamlining work and providing more efficient service.
Serve as liaison to ITS staff.

Database Management
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of CCI databases by developing and administering quality assurance measures, overseeing user training, security, and access.

Data Analysis, Trend Research, Reporting
Work with a team to manage the development and tracking of CCI key performance areas and indicators and help to create a culture of benchmarking and ongoing assessment.
Educate and train CCI staff around data tracking responsibilities and procedures; develop reports, queries and mailing lists using Symplicity, Banner, and Hyperion or similar tools.
Analyze and report on monthly trends using visual dashboards to communicate operational performance.
Compile, analyze, and report mid-year and annual data, drawing strategic insights related to office operations, past performance, and future planning.
Research and report key regional and national economic, recruiting, and first destination data.
Collaborate with Institutional Research and College Advancement to collect and manage first destination and alumni longitudinal career data collection and reporting.

Training and Support
Provide training for staff to fully utilize technology resources and how to input, manage and extract data from databases.
Support colleagues by investigating problems and recommending solutions relative to any and all technology functions, leveraging ITS support relationships as necessary.
Provide ongoing maintenance and periodic upgrades of PC and Mac hardware and software.
Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develop solutions.
Work closely with technology vendors to ensure optimal design and performance.
Provide technical coaching and mentoring to CCI staff as needed.

Planning and Leadership
Work closely with the CCI Leadership Team to determine appropriate forecasting and predictive analytics tools to drive office operations, programs, and services.
Analyze existing applications to develop opportunities for improvements.
Identify system requirements for current and new systems as needed.
Participate in the project planning process.
Communicate with and collect research on the peer institutions in terms of best practices, business processes, and procedures.
Oversee implementation of new and/or updated CCI systems, platforms, and applications.
Evaluate and provide recommendations for application packages as needed. (e.g., buy vs. build).
Assist in capturing and tracing operational metrics to understand performance and to ensure success in process improvements.

General Responsibilities:
Provide timely and complete project status reports to supervisor as requested.
Stay abreast of career services technology, automation improvements, and trends in the field and make proactive recommendations.
Facilitate and serve on departmental and College committees as assigned.
Serve as liaison to Middlebury departments or programs as appropriate; serve on CCI teams as assigned.

Education:
Bachelors degree, preferably in computer or information science.

Knowledge:
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office and Mac applications and database systems required; knowledge of or experience with Banner Student Information System and/or the Hyperion and Argos reporting systems preferred.
Proficiency with content management systems (preferably Drupal and WordPress) required; knowledge of and experience working with web development best practices.
Proficiency with social media applications.
Demonstrated understanding of data analysis and presentation along with the ability to translate end-user requirements into technical specifications; able to generate clear, concise, reports that include statistical information and outcomes to facilitate decision-making.
Able to conduct analysis using survey, data analysis, or statistical software applications (Qualtrics, etc.) preferred.
Able to coordinate collection of data from multiple sources to meet firm deadlines required.
A systematic approach to problem-solving and sound judgment.
Strong ability to think creatively and strategically in a collaborative environment.
Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, and communication skills, and the ability to foster productive working relationships with a range of internal and external constituents.
Ability to create, develop, and implement written protocols and procedures.
Well-organized, attentive to detail, ability to prioritize workload and anticipate and meet deadlines in a multi-project, deadline-driven environment.
Creativity, flexibility, curiosity, and a willingness to develop new competencies required.
Success working both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of the job search process with a clear understanding of the role of internships and career education initiatives preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience.
Experience with quantitative or qualitative data services and software is required
Experience with the manipulation of datasets and data visualization tools is required.
Experience providing training and consultation to a wide variety of audiences.
Experience in a higher education setting preferred.
