Brief Position Summary
Position Summary:

Work involves responsibility for the management of a campus snack bar under the direction of the Retail General Manager and the Snow Bowl Cafe Supervisor. Requisitions food and supplies. Closely supervises food service workers and other employees in the preparation and serving of sandwiches, soft drinks, and other short order foods. Responsibilities of this work include the training of food service workers for the prompt and efficient service to customers, cleanliness of personnel, and the food service area. This person is under the general supervision of the General Manager

Essential Functions:

* Must be able to work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisors. The position functions as a shift supervisor during cafe manager's absence.
* Prepares soup, chili, stew, and daily specials as scheduled for the Snowbowl and Rikert.
* Responsible to attain food and service quality of the highest possible level.
* Observes proper food storage and handling procedures. May assist with inventory and product ordering.
* Cleans work area including griddle, fryers, ovens, counters, floors, dishes and other related equipment.
* Ensures kitchen area is maintained in the proper sanitary condition.
* Assists in scheduling and supervises employees
* Assists with deli set up, preparation and service.
* Position Functions as shift manager 2 days per week, additional duties to include staff oversight and daily cash up.

Education:

High School degree or equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have training in proper food preparation and storage methods, as well as in sanitation standards.

Experience:

One to two years of food preparation experience preferred

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. Numerous times daily, and up to 50 lbs., on an occasional basis. Must be able to push/pull up to 75 lbs. Frequently. Requires long periods of time standing and frequent bending and reaching
