Position Summary:
The Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs (RCGA) Program and Outreach Fellow is charged with implementing outreach efforts to support globally oriented campus activities. The fellow will be responsible for communicating the Center's initiatives and the success stories of individuals and groups to internal and external audiences through writing, speaking, and electronic methods. The fellow will also perform administrative tasks for the Center's programs.

This is a post graduate fellowship staff position. First-hand experience with international education is strongly preferred. Candidates who are Middlebury graduates are preferred.

Essential Functions:
Offer is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

Anticipated start date is August 26, 2019.

  • Develop, implement, and support outreach that informs Middlebury and the general public about international and global initiatives.
  • Produce multimedia stories about Middlebury students, faculty, and staff involved in international and global endeavors.
  • Design and produce visually stimulating materials for effective message communication to internal and external audiences through posters, online, video, and print.
  • Serve as a conduit for communication among students, faculty, staff, Middlebury schools abroad, alumni, and Middlebury community members about international initiatives and ideas.
  • Propose communication strategies through promotion, social media, website, and print publications.
  • Maintain the RCGA website, and keep content current.
  • Liaise with the communications office.
  • Speak publicly about the Rohatyn Centers international and global initiatives.


General Responsibilities:
  • Perform additional duties as assigned; may need to work occasional evening and weekend hours.


Qualifcation
Education:

BA preferably in international area

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Enthusiasm for and interest in international education.
  • A creative mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, graphic design, website management, and video editing.
  • Experience with and willingness to learn relevant software applications.
  • Ability to speak persuasively and confidently to diverse audiences and to tailor speaking to fit the audience.
  • Strong organizational skills, motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to maintain outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize and manage competing tasks successfully and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible to support, encourage, and respond to program growth.


Experience:
Study Abroad experience preferred.
