Assistant Professor of English


ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ENGLISH MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE, MIDDLEBURY, VT 05753. The Department of English and American Literatures seeks an Assistant Professor for a tenure-track position beginning September 2019 in American Multi-Ethnic Literatures, including but not limited to the following: Latinx, Asian American, Native American, or American Immigrant literatures. Relevant subspecialty in race and ethnic studies, comparative literature, or gender and queer studies welcome. Candidates must be committed to teaching and mentoring in a liberal arts environment and serving students from historically underrepresented groups. The successful candidate will teach both in this area of specialization and in the general departmental and college curricula such as first-year seminars and team-taught courses with faculty from other departments. The faculty member appointed will teach four courses per year and a one-month long January term course every other year.Candidates should provide evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential. Applicants must hold a Ph. D. in English, American Studies, or closely related field by the date of appointment.
