The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) invites applicants for the position of Training & Technical Assistance Associate. This is a full-time, twelve-month, sponsor-funded, term faculty position with an anticipated hire date of February 10, 2018.  We are looking for individual with research development skills and data collection experience as it relates to the goals of the Autism Center for Excellence. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience providing embedded training and technical assistance to schools and school divisions to increase capacity and improve services for students with ASD across the age range; coach and mentor teacher principals, paraprofessionals, and other educational staff in the implementation of evidence based practices for individuals with ASD; assist schools and school systems in developing systems change plans for improving services to students with ASD; facilitate school autism teams in implementing data based systems change plans; participate in planning and implementing regional Communities of Learning in Autism for multiple school divisions; develop and deliver targeted training in multiple live and on-line formats; and coordinate and collaborate with statewide stakeholders on the development of additional products to meet the needs of students with ASD across the state.

 

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Autism, or a closely related field, and extensive experience and knowledge of evidenced based practices used with early intervention program, children, and adolescents with ASD, as well as previous experience teaching, administrating, or providing therapy in a public school system.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Training and systems change facilitation, BCBA certification (or working towards a certification) and prior experience teaching in a public school setting.
