Colon and Rectal Surgeon
The department of Surgery at VCU Health is actively recruiting for a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Colon and Rectal Surgeon for the Division of Bariatric/ GI Surgery at VCU Medical Center and affiliated campuses. VCU Medical Center, a 700 bed quaternary teaching hospital is one of the largest and busiest academic centers in Virginia.
Must be board certified or board eligible in general surgery and must have completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery. The successful candidate should have a strong academic interest in clinical and/or basic research, a commitment to education and training, and excellent clinical and surgical credentials. Responsibilities also include supervising residents and fellows in the practice of colon and rectal surgery. The candidate will develop a large practice related to inflammatory bowel disease, hindgut malignancies and pelvic floor disorders in a multi-disciplinary environment. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Richmond and surrounding towns in Central Virginia include a population of 1.5 million and is the seat of the government of State of Virginia.
