Executive Assistant to the Vice President

Provide executive level administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources. Prioritize and expedite daily issues requiring the Vice President's review and action. Manage the department's budget by preparing budget projections, tracking expenditures, and conducting other related budget activities. Manage the Vice President's appointment schedule, make travel arrangements, and prepare documents to include Board Of Visitors and budget reports.

Demonstrated ability to coordinate and plan executive level administrative support activities. Ability to exercise judgment and to interpret administrative policies and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques. Demonstrated ability to function with limited supervision and independence. Knowledge of general accounting principles, processes, and budget management. Demonstrated ability to record, organize and analyze data. Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, schedules, and travel arrangements. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Considerable working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Some knowledge of data base management. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service. Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, agendas and minutes. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while producing quality work. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Level and type of experience
Several years of experience providing administrative support to a mid to executive level administrator. Some experience managing and reconciling budgets. Some experience preparing written correspondence such as reports, presentations and minutes.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Working knowledge of Commonwealth of VA policies and procedures, and procurement processes. Experience in a higher education setting. Experience in a human resources environment. Experience with Banner. Considerable experience providing executive level support.
