Director, Tri-Cities Center

This position provides strategic planning, leadership and management for all aspects of University operations at the Tri-Cities Center. Other duties include: spearheads on-site Transfer Center and associated student success and recruitment programming, serves as chief POC for TCC use of the facility, oversees co-curricular and community engagement programming, budget, facilities use, and public relations/marketing and outreach; hires, trains, and evaluates all full-time staff; collaborates with numerous University academic and administrative units in support of programming and events; develops and implements marketing strategies for the Center and University in the Tri-Cities service areas, in collaboration with the other Regional Higher Education Centers and appropriate main campus offices; builds strategic alliances with corporate, government, professional, and community organizations; represents the University in the Tri-Cities service areas, especially Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Chesapeake; participates in the development of annual assessments, annual reports, and reaccreditation efforts; collaborates with the Peninsula and Virginia Beach higher education centers on regional initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree. Extensive experience providing advocacy, public relations, academic advising, and/or student success/training/professional development programming to diverse clients. Experience supervising others. Experience managing resources/budgets, facilities, and/or academic scheduling. Considerable knowledge and demonstrated experience in leadership and management best practices. Working knowledge of transfer, non-traditional and/or adult student needs. Marketing/public relations and/or outreach experience. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with many diverse constituents and colleagues. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with community college and/or transfer students in a university setting. Significant student success or academic advising background in a higher education setting. Strong working knowledge of trends in higher education.
