Lecturer, Procurement and Contracts Management

 

UVa's School of Continuing and Professional Studies seeks applicants to fill tenure ineligible part-time lecturer positions in Procurement and Contracts Management Graduate and Undergraduate Certificate programs beginning Fall 2018. The candidates will be primarily responsible for teaching at client locations in the Northern Virginia area. In addition, there may be online teaching and course development opportunities. There are current openings for cost and price analysis lecturers. Subject area needs include, but are not limited to cost and price analysis, contract administration, negotiation, government contracting and contract law, and international business. SCPS employs academic faculty who have applicable content expertise at the appropriate level, and who provide evidence of recent and/or current professional experience which applies to students' achieving the goals and learning outcomes of the program.

Qualifications: The positions are for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction. Teaching onsite for clients requires a terminal degree with 18 graduate hours in content area for graduate-level instruction. A master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the content area with exceptional practical work experience and extraordinary qualifications in the subject matter may be substituted for the terminal degree. 2-4 years relevant subject matter teaching experience, preferably in higher education setting, is required. Experiences working with adult learners and strong written and oral communication skills are required. Extensive industry experiences and online instruction are highly desirable. Please indicate all instruction and course development for online and in-classroom instruction experience.

Note: This is an at-will faculty wage position, which does not carry benefits. All hires are made as part-time appointments.
