Clinical Instructor of Production Management Medicine

Position Summary:
The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine ( VMCVM ), Blacksburg, VA, invites applications for a 1-year Clinical Instructor position in Production Management Medicine ( PMM ). Applicants must possess a DVM or equivalent degree with a preference for and experience in food animal medicine and surgery. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The strategic goals of the College include maintaining and building a robust food animal case load, providing excellence in teaching within the DVM curriculum, and adding to the scholarly contributions of the college. The VMCVM is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual to help attain these goals and who aspires to join the existing team in driving the food animal program forward. The PMM caseload is approximately 55,000 animals/year with 60% beef (cow-calf and stocker) 30% dairy and 10% small ruminants/porcine. The majority of cases are evaluated in an ambulatory setting with about 300 animals hospitalized in the VTH /annum. The mission of the service is to promote excellence in service, teaching, and scholarship.
Primary job responsibilities are participation in the clinical PMM service, including clinical instruction, and shared participation in emergency coverage. Other duties may include delivery of didactic and laboratory instruction of pre-clinical students

Required Qualifications:
DVM or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in food animal medicine and surgery.
