The University of Utah seeks a Facility Manager for the new Beckman Center for Cryo-EM that will house an FEI Titan Krios equipped with a K2 detector, energy filter, and Volta phase plate. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of the EM Core Facility and will primarily be responsible for overseeing day-to-day facility operations. These responsibilities include:
• Maintaining the TEM and supporting equipment
• Assisting, training, and advising users in the cryo-EM pipeline, including sample preparation and data collection
• Providing preliminary data processing support
• Scheduling and coordinating user logistics
• Maintaining computational hardware and software, including data archiving
• Liasing with administrative and IT personnel as needs arise

Qualified candidates should have a PhD or equivalent experience in structural biology or a related field and extensive experience in single particle cryo-EM. Experience with cryo-tomography is helpful, but not required. Excellent communication skills are necessary to work with facility users.
