Provost

Provost Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah is pleased to invite nominations and applications for the position of Provost/Chief Academic Officer. The Provost reports directly to the President and is responsible for overseeing the academic integrity of the entire institution. Directly reporting to the Provost are the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Dean of Education, and the Dean of the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business. The Provost also oversees the Library, Information Technology, Diversity and Global Learning, and the Centers for Civic Engagement, Entrepreneurship, and the Environment. Westminster recently launched an ambitious strategic plan around three key initiatives: Assuring Affordability and Sustainability; Building a Community of Learners; and Innovating to Support Student Success. The new Provost is expected to be a champion of these important initiatives. Westminster College is a national leader in applying competency-based principles within a liberal arts-based environment, and the Provost leads this initiative. The Provost serves as the chief executive officer in the absence of the President. Required Qualifications: 1. Ph.D. or other terminal degree in an academic field offered at Westminster College. 2. Progressive administrative experience to the level of dean or higher. 3. Evidence of strong teaching, scholarly engagement, and participation in professional organizations that connect one to the important current themes influencing higher education. 4. Proven leadership and strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Capable of managing change skillfully within a dynamic organization. 2. Experience in developing and expanding non-traditional student markets. 3. Experience with experiential and active learning innovation. 4. Experience and preference for working in a diverse and inclusive campus environment.
