Description: The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Section of Nuclear Medicine. This individual is expected to make a significant impact in the field of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging through innovations and to contribute to a collegial environment that will promote the academic and clinical growth of the Nuclear Medicine section. The candidate is expected to provide clinical services; initiate research projects; actively engage in teaching for residents and fellows; and participate in quality improvement and value initiatives. The academic appointment will be at a rank and track commensurate with training and experience. Depending on the candidate's academic experience, a departmental leadership position will also be considered.

Qualifications: The candidate should be board-certified by ABNM and/or ABR /NR, or equivalent. The candidate should have or be eligible for the status of Authorized User of radioisotopes. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. The candidate with experience in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine practice including therapies and procedures. This individual should have a strong academic interest and prior evidence of research productivity. Active engagement in investigational research and extramurally funded research projects are desired.

Facilities: The Nuclear Medicine section provides clinical services at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Center, and VA medical center. Extensive imaging resources, including PET -CT scanners, SPECT -CT, and cyclotron / radiochemistry laboratory are available for clinical work and research. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET - MRI , micro SPECT -CT, micro PET , and 7T MRI , are available. In addition, multiple 3T MRI scanners are available for clinical and research work. Research opportunities abound within the University, supported by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research ( UCAIR ) in the Department and the Center for Quantitative Cancer Imaging ( CQCI ) in the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Location: The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, in the foothill of the Wasatch Mountains at the western edge of the Rocky Mountains. Salt Lake City is a rapidly growing, multicultural city, listed at 7th Best Place for Business and Careers by Forbes Magazine in 2015. Seven ski and summer resorts, including Park City (home of the Sundance Film Festival), Deer Valley, Alta, and Snowbird (Oktoberfest), are located close to the campus. Within a day's drive are nine U.S. National Parks. Salt Lake City is one of the most beautiful, safe, and affordable cities in the USA .
