Description: The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Section of Nuclear Medicine. This individual is expected to make a significant impact in the field of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging through innovations and to contribute to a collegial environment that will promote the academic and clinical growth of the Nuclear Medicine section. The candidate is expected to provide clinical services; initiate research projects; actively engage in teaching for residents and fellows; and participate in quality improvement and value initiatives. The academic appointment will be at a rank and track commensurate with training and experience. Depending on the candidate's academic experience, a departmental leadership position will also be considered.

Qualifications: The candidate should be board-certified by ABNM and/or ABR /NR, or equivalent. The candidate should have or be eligible for the status of Authorized User of radioisotopes. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. The candidate with experience in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine practice including therapies and procedures. This individual should have a strong academic interest and prior evidence of research productivity. Active engagement in investigational research and extramurally funded research projects are desired.

Facilities: The Nuclear Medicine section provides clinical services at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Center, and VA medical center. Extensive imaging resources, including PET -CT scanners, SPECT -CT, and cyclotron / radiochemistry laboratory are available for clinical work and research. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET - MRI , micro SPECT -CT, micro PET , and 7T MRI , are available. In addition, multiple 3T MRI scanners are available for clinical and research work. Research opportunities abound within the University, supported by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research ( UCAIR ) in the Department and the Center for Quantitative Cancer Imaging ( CQCI ) in the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
