Description: The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position (physician-scientist track) in Neuroradiology. This individual is expected to make a significant impact in the field of Neuroradiology through innovations and to contribute to a collegial environment that will promote the academic and clinical growth of the Neuroradiology section. The candidate is expected to provide clinical services; initiate research projects; actively engage in teaching for residents and fellows; and participate in quality improvement and value initiatives. The Department offers an outstanding Neuroradiology fellowship program and residency program in Diagnostic Radiology. The academic appointment will be at a rank commensurate with training and experience. Depending on the candidate's academic experience, a departmental leadership position will also be considered.

Qualifications: The candidate should be board-certified in radiology and have completed a 2-year neuroradiology fellowship or equivalent training. CAQ certification in neuroradiology (or equivalent) is required. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. The candidate with experience in all aspects of neuroradiology practice including spine imaging and spine procedures would be desirable. This individual should have a strong academic interest and prior evidence of research productivity. Active engagement in investigational research and extramurally funded research projects are desired.

Facilities: The Neuroradiology section provides clinical services at the Clinical Neurosciences Center, University Hospital, Imaging and Neurosciences Center, and VA medical center. There is the potential for expanding coverage to outpatient centers. Extensive imaging resources, including multiple MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperative MRI , and PET -CT scanners are available for clinical work and research in the Department. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET - MRI and 7T MRI , are also available. Research opportunities abound, with a broad case mix from the sources described above, as well as the world-class unique support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research ( UCAIR ) in the Department. UCAIR offers international expertise in imaging sciences, including basic sciences, physics and engineering, MRI research, and CT and PET research. The University of Utah Health Sciences offer various leadership programs and research training opportunities for faculty members. A leader in quality care, the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics were ranked #1 in Quality, Safety, and Accountability among all academic medical centers in 2016 and consistently has ranked in the top 10 over the past six years in a row.

Location: The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, in the foothill of the Wasatch Mountains at the western edge of the Rocky Mountains. Salt Lake City is a rapidly growing, multicultural city, listed at 7th Best Place for Business and Careers by Forbes Magazine in 2015. Seven ski and summer resorts, including Park City (home of the Sundance Film Festival), Deer Valley, Alta, and Snowbird (Oktoberfest), are located close to the campus.
