Musculoskeletal Radiologists

The Department of Radiology University of Utah is seeking 2 Musculoskeletal Radiologist who has a strong desire to advance academic radiology.

The candidates should be Musculoskeletal ( MSK ) fellowship (or equivalent)-trained in all aspects of MSK radiology including ultrasound. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills as well as strong evidence of significant academic and research work are a prerequisite. MSK faculty members are expected to provide diagnostic and procedural services; participate in general faculty and MSK call pools; actively engage in teaching for diagnostic radiology residents and MSK fellows; initiate or collaborate in research projects; and participate in the department leadership. These individuals are expected to engage in impactful translational research in MSK radiology. It is expected that these individuals will contribute to a collegial environment that will promote the growth of the section and the department. These applicants must be Board Certified or eligible and able to obtain a valid physician's license to practice medicine in the State of Utah. The rank of these academic appointments will be commensurate with prior experience and academic achievements.

The MSK section provides clinical services at the University Hospital, University Orthopaedic Center ( UOC ), VA medical center, and Huntsman Cancer Institute, an NCI -designated premier cancer center. The UOC , a national flagship Orthopaedic institution, will expand significantly in the next few years, bringing in both unique case mix and various research opportunities. There is the potential for expanding coverage to an outpatient center. Extensive imaging resources, including multiple MRI and PET -CT scanners, are available for research. The Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research ( UCAIR ) in the Department offers international expertise in imaging sciences including multiple MRI and CT programs. The Department offers an outstanding residency program in Diagnostic Radiology and an excellent MSK fellowship program.
