The University of Utah Department of Pathology seeks a full-time academic faculty gastrointestinal, pancreaticobiliary and hepatic pathologist at any academic level and in either the clinical or tenure track, who is board certified in anatomic pathology and GI pathology fellowship trained or with equivalent experience.

The University of Utah and ARUP Laboratories has a large and growing gastrointestinal, hepatic and pancreaticobiliary subspecialty clinical service, fellowship training program and research program. The faculty includes Wade Samowitz, MD, Mary Bronner, MD, Kajsa Affolter, MD Eric Swanson, MD, Kim Evason, MD PhD, and Maria Pletneva, MD PhD, who have over 60 total years of experience among them and who hail from the major schools of GI pathology in the USA , from Johns Hopkins, U of WA, U of UT, UCLA , UCSF , and U of MI, respectively. The appropriate individual will participate in clinical service, research, and teaching within the division. Preference will be given to individuals with additional interest and capability in surgical pathology and/or molecular pathology. Ample opportunities are available for research at the ARUP Research and Development Institute, University of Utah Health Sciences Center and the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
