Academic Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist, Rank DOQ - University of Utah School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry

The Division of Adult Psychiatry at the University of Utah School of Medicine is looking for a dedicated and motivated Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to take the lead of our Consultation/Liaison service. The successful candidate will be driven, innovative, and have the desire to enhance a comprehensive psychiatric Consultation/Liaison service to serve the needs of the emergency room, medical and surgical services. Qualifications:

Applicants should hold a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Utah (or eligible) and have expertise in adult inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatry.

Completion of a residency in Psychiatry, and current enrollment in good standing or completion of an ACGME certified Psychosomatic Psychiatry Fellowship is required.

The candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry and be board eligible in Psychosomatic Psychiatry upon hire. Obtaining board certification is a requirement for retention.

Responsibilities:
• Consultation for patients on medical/surgical services, emergency room, and at times provide clinical care of psychiatric inpatients
• Teaching/supervising medical students and residents in psychiatric clinical rotations
• Scholarly activity/research may be organized as you progress
• Administrative service to the Department of Psychiatry, the hospital, and the Medical school, including peer review and participation on committees, may be requested
• Call is an expected clinical responsibility for all faculty
• Cross coverage for team members

The percentage of effort spent in teaching, research and administrative activities will be negotiated annually. Specific assignments will be coordinated through the Division Chief of Adult Psychiatry.
