  • Staffs the Flight Training Center Dispatch area and dispatches aircraft to students, instructors and staff members while ensuring that all requirements of the department's policies and procedures are followed
  • Uses the Aviation Information Management System (AIMS) flight program to fulfill various functions
  • Maintains student accounts, including the creation of new accounts and receives payments
  • Communicates fuel, aircraft cleaning, deicing, and other needs to maintenance
  • Ensures aircraft are used in priority order. Accommodates and monitors local practice areas for all active flights
  • Maintains the flight schedule and tracks and coordinates required maintenance inspections
  • Provides emergency assistance and incident response and other job related duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma, or GED Equivalent and six months related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and programs required to operate FAA Part 61 and Part 141 certified pilot schools, as well as basic flight operations
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), requirements for student pilots, weather minimums, night flight requirements and endorsements.
  • Skills in computers and computer applications
  • Interpersonal human relations, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work under high stress situations
  • Ability lo adhere to the Aviation Science Dispatch dress code
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs


Preferred Qualifications:


Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform manual work, walk, sit, bend, stoop, talk, hear, see, and lift up to 15 lbs.

Benefits Summary:
You may be eligible for a 3 credit hour or 1 class tuition waiver after 6 consecutive months of employment and a minimum of 475 hours worked. Dependents do not qualify for a waiver.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $10.75 - $13.44
