Library Administrative Assistant and Facilities Coordinator

The Library Administrative Assistant and Facilities Coordinator has primary responsibility for the following:

• supporting the Dean of Library Services in an administrative function including scheduling, correspondence, and budgetary preparation;
• acting as the point person for all facilities projects, including placing orders for supplies and furniture, responding to complaints or issues in the facility, and placing appropriate work orders; and
• coordinating budget allocations and central administration for 200+ student employees and their supervisors across all areas of the Library.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of relevant work experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with desktop technology tools, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) or GSuite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Presentations), and Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
• Proficiency and operational experience with hardware such as printers, scanners, photocopiers, and microform equipment.
• Demonstrated success in working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and colleagues; enthusiasm for delivering high quality service to an academic community.
• Aptitude and interest in continued development of technological skills.
• Poise and polished interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate understanding, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others.
• Ability to manage and reconcile a student employment budget of approximately $200,000.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to analyze and evaluate tasks as they relate to broader processes and goals.
• Ability to make prudent, fair, and sound decisions while anticipating long-range results, direct and indirect.
• Ability to prioritize constantly changing demands and many complex tasks with attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Ability to accommodate multiple, conflicting demands for commitment of effort.
• Creative problem-solving abilities, initiative, perseverance, and intellectual curiosity.
• Flexibility to adjust and thrive in a changing workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant work experience in a college or university library setting.
