JOB SUMMARY:

Provide customer service to students on financial aid and billing issues and assist the Senior Assistant Director in some training and supervisory duties for the Information Desk.



REPORTS TO: Senior Assistant Director

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Answer inquiries from students, parents and colleagues at the Information Desk.
  2. Check forms for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Meet with parents and students regarding the affordability of the University and the calculation of out-of-pocket expenses.
  4. Review tax and other documents.
  5. Clear registrations and blocks.
  6. Act as a resource person for other I-Desk personnel in the absence of the supervisor.
  7. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to make independent decisions based on training.
  2. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
  3. Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet.



EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred) and/or 1 - 3 years current financial aid experience in a fast-paced customer-service oriented higher education environment.
  2. Required to attend events as needed (Evenings & Weekends)
  3. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Hours:

  1. Monday-Thursday 10-6pm; Friday 8:30-4:30pm
