Description of the Job
VCU's Parking & Transportation department oversees 11 decks holding approximately 8100 parking spaces; approximately 40 lots totaling roughly 4200 parking spaces; and on average, 900 revenue producing events annually. The high demand for parking accommodations requires Safety Officers to ensure all essential tasks are performed in a timely manner. As a result of the increase in demand for parking and the decrease in inventory, parking officers work to preserve space by removing violators from parking facilities. Vehicles are cited for violations and removed if they pose a hazard for subscribers. ESOs are also critical in maintaining an accurate record of available spaces. Based on the information gleaned for daily inventory counts, the customer service office is able to sell space on an as needed basis. ESO are also utilized for special events and unusual occurrences that take place in and around parking facilities.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to work nights and weekends, including holidays required.
Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
Successfully complete all training, possess excellent customer service skills, and demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
Possess a valid driver's license with a 0 points
Previous customer service/parking experience preferred.
