President of Victoria College

The Board of Trustees of Victoria College is actively seeking a President who will honor the unique culture, traditions and history of Victoria College and provide leadership in taking the College to the next level of achievement.  The President of Victoria College will be a visionary and high energy leader with superb communication and listening skills.

  • A leader who will strive to achieve the highest standards of performance in teaching and learning and in the services offered to students, faculty, staff and the community.

  • An experienced leader who builds and fosters strong partnerships with K-12, The University of Houston-Victoria and other institutions of higher education.

  • A leader with demonstrated successful political experience in working with a state legislature.

  • An articulate spokesperson for the College, one with an entrepreneurial spirit and engages actively with business, civic, industry and community leaders.

  • A data-driven decision-maker who is innovative, creative and a risk-taker who understands how potential changes may impact students, faculty, staff and the community.

  • A fiscal steward who has significant experience working with large and complex budgets and who has a complete understanding and working knowledge of budget and financial operations within a community college.

  • An individual who embraces technology and is experienced at prioritizing technology needs.

  • An individual committed to achieving the goals of diversity and inclusiveness within the college.

  • Experience in working with an elected Board of Trustees to achieve the goals of the college.

  • An experienced leader with demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff and administrators, build highly successful teams and empower staff members in addressing institutional needs.

  • A leader who acknowledges and sustains the culture and traditions of the college and builds upon its outstanding reputation.

  • A leader with demonstrated success in fundraising efforts, preferably in partnership with a college foundation.

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution is highly preferred.

  • Progressive successful experience as a senior level administrator.

  • College-level classroom experience is highly desirable.
