Supply and Logistics Specialist

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Starting Salary: $15.09 per hour

Please note this is a part time position consisting of 30 hours per week.
Job Summary: The Supply and Logistics Specialist is responsible for providing program support by facilitating program goals and objectives.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:
  • Assists with Air Force ROTC Uniform, Supply and Logistics program under guidance of Air Force Uniform Program Custodian.
  • Oversees procurement and issuance of Air Force ROTC cadet uniform items, via Air Force procurement system.
  • Provides guidance and enforces standards on uniform wear policies.
  • Conducts annual inventory and inspection of all uniform and equipment items in accordance with TCU and AFROTC instruction.
  • Identifies and replaces outdated, worn or unserviceable uniforms and/or equipment.
  • Negotiates and coordinates with local vendors to provide uniform and logistics services.
  • Develops annual budget for uniform and supply requirements in coordination with Air Force Uniform Program Custodian.
  • Maintains storage facilities in accordance with TCU and AFROTC instructions.
  • Supports various projects by assisting customers with policies and procedures, identifying and resolving issues; maintaining inventory levels.
  • Maintains data integrity by entering, testing, verifying and archiving data.
  • Prepares and produces reports and documents by researching, analyzing and summarizing information and trends; coordinating and completing project requirements.
  • Supports and maintains programs by complying with guidelines and regulations; negotiating for changes or exceptions.
  • Manages revenue by verifying transaction information by following internal accounting controls; computing charges and refunds; preparing and mailing invoices; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments; notifying customers of insufficient payments.
  • Maintains a presence at program student events and ceremonies. Advises event participants on procedures and provides logistical support as necessary.
  • Represents TCU and AFROTC at various university and community formal events.
  • Supports Administrative Assistant and acts as back-up when needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year of basic office experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience working with military organizations and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic military and government written correspondence formats.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting processes.
  • Knowledge of organization skills and problems solving skills.
  • Knowledge of basic research techniques.
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques.
  • Skill in basic keyboarding and intermediate level computer skills.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Skill in the accuracy with numeric techniques.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally.
  • Ability to draft grammatically correct correspondence.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to improve operations.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:
  • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • Work is at TCU but within a military office setting.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
