Spirit Assistant (2018-271)

Job Description:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Please note this is a part time, temporary position.

Job Summary:
The Spirit Assistant assists the Spirit Coordinator with TCU Showgirls practices and/or performances by attending rehearsals and home football and basketball games and other performances as required.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Attends all Showgirl rehearsals as assigned by Spirit Coordinator.
Attends road games as assigned by Spirit Coordinator.
Attends all Showgirl performances as assigned (game days, marketing events, etc.)
Coordinates meetings with Cheer Coordinator and Marketing; schedule captains meetings.
Attends game day operations meetings as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree
1 year collegiate spirit experience
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Valid Texas Driver's License.
Must be insurable under the University Motor Vehicle Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of basic advising and counseling techniques.
Knowledge and understanding of college student development and learning.
Knowledge of crowd involvement and safety measures.
Skill in planning and organizing.
Skill in communication, presentation and interpersonal techniques.
Ability to adhere to and support university spirit squad priorities, philosophy and guidelines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
Lifting and moving objects and equipment.
Work Environment:
Work is indoors and outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
