Art Adventure Camp - Workshop Artist

Position Description:
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Salary: $7.00-15.00 per hour

Please be advised this is a temporary, part-time position for the Summer only.

Job Summary: The Art Adventure Workshop Artist is responsible for developing art lessons that center around painting, ceramics, printmaking, collage, or other art media for the Art Adventures summer fine arts program.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops art lessons for the Art Adventures summer fine arts program.
  • Teaches and leads students through developed lessons involving different art media and methods, such as painting, ceramics, printmaking, collage, and other art media.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 years of experience in an art related field.


Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Prior experience as an artist, art teacher, or classroom teacher.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of basic counseling techniques.
  • Knowledge of different art media and techniques.
  • Skill in working with students from grades first through twelfth.
  • Skill in lesson development and teaching.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.


Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.


Work Environment:
  • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
