Clinical Assistant Professor of Sport Management

The Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University offers an exciting unique opportunity in the Applied Physiology and Sport Management program. This is a non-tenure-track nine-month renewable contract Clinical Assistant Professor, Sport Management position, # 00053259, which begins fall of 2018. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.  The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of four classes per semester including but not limited to: Sports Marketing, Sport Finance, Revenue in Sport, and Sport Sales and Promotion. This position includes APSM undergraduate advising of general education curriculum and major degree program requirements. This position may include teaching graduate courses in the Sport Management graduate program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants with an earned Ph.D. in sport management, sports industry experience, industry-relevant sport scholarly research, and a record of accomplishment teaching at the undergraduate level.  Candidates must have a minimum of a master’s degree in sport management or an MBA.  Candidates should have outstanding interpersonal communication skills that promote strong collaborations in the sports industry throughout the United States.
