Chair and Professor, Computer Science and Engineer

Southern Methodist University (SMU) invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair and Professor, Computer Science and Engineering (Position No: 5781). It is expected that the appointment will be at the tenured Full Professor level. The Chair will be the intellectual leader of the Computer Science and Engineering Department with strong interest in educational programs at the BS, MS, and PhD levels, and will be instrumental in the continuing development of a world-renowned interdisciplinary research program synergistic with the ongoing research in the Department and the Lyle School of Engineering. He/she will possess strong administrative skills and will be an outstanding communicator representing the Computer Science and Engineering Department and the Lyle School on- and off-campus. The anticipated starting date is on or before August 1, 2018. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and must be qualified for a tenured appointment at the full Professor level.
