Director of Facilities and Operations

University Unions has a position available for a Director of Facilities and Operations. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of University Unions facilities and operations. This position oversees and directs multiple University Unions facilities, ensuring events and services are delivered in an effective, efficient and timely manner in accordance with the vision and mission of the organization. University Unions is comprised of several facilities and a university-wide student programming board; these are: The Texas Union; the Student Activity Center; Hogg Memorial Auditorium; facility operations for The Student Services Building; and the student organization, Campus and Entertainment.

 

In order to be successful, candidates should possess: A Master’s degree in education, business administration or related field. Five years of experience at mid-level management (for example: Assistant/Associate Director in a large institution or Director in a small institution). Three years of experience in facilities operation/facilities management. Experience in personnel management including supervision of staff and employee development. Experience with budget planning, fiscal oversight, and resource allocation. Demonstrated strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

 

 

Preferred qualifications include: Five years of experience in mid-level management in the student union or student services field. Extensive practice and training in leadership. An understanding of the role of a university union in a first tier research university. Proven commitment to diversity and inclusion. Clear articulation of, and commitment to student development. Ability to develop and implement student-learning outcomes based on clearly defined methods. Ability to speak Spanish.
