Faculty Position in Student Affairs Administration

Assistant or Associate Professor of the Practice in Student Affairs

Higher Education Administration Program
 

The Department of Leadership, Policy and Organizations invites applications for an assistant or associate professor of the practice with a specialization in student affairs. Preference will be given to applicants with advanced training and/or extensive experience in the student affairs profession. Qualified candidates should have an earned doctorate in higher education administration (or in a closely allied field) and an outstanding track record of graduate-level classroom instruction. The professor of the practice faculty classification is designated for master teachers who also have an active research agenda.

The position is in the higher education administration program. The faculty member will teach courses in theories of college student development, in student diversity, and in higher education administration, and will direct the student practicum requirement and be assigned other administrative duties in support of the program. There are also opportunities for teaching in the department’s undergraduate programs.  The initial appointment will be for a three-year term, renewable upon successful review, with opportunities for professional development and advancement. The salary will be commensurate with experience; the start date is August 2015.
