Currey-Ingram Chair in Literacy

 

The Department of Special Education at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College invites applications for a senior scholar (at the associate or full professor level) to fill the Currey-Ingram Chair in Literacy. The successful candidate will have a nationally recognized program of research on reading and reading difficulty (a focus on education neuroscience is preferred but not required); a history of success in external grant funding; and a record of excellence in teaching. Candidates whose research focuses on early childhood through high school will be considered.  Responsibilities include maintaining a nationally recognized program of externally supported research; teaching courses in reading and learning disabilities; contributing to the refinement of our undergraduate and graduate programs; advising students; collaborating with local districts and agencies that serve culturally and economically diverse students; and engaging in service to the university and profession.
