Motlow State Community College is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and have four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in process (and completed within one year of start date) with library course work or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher. Skills using information technology.

General Function:

The person in this position provides evening library services and Information Technology (IT) help desk services. The person in this position works regularly scheduled evening hours, with a possibility of weekend hours (as needed) and may need to work at other campuses.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

(Duties and responsibilities listed are examples of work performed and may be modified as needs of the College may dictate)

1. Library Public Services: Assists and teaches students, faculty, and the community users how to access and acquire information using the online public access catalog, the Internet and Internet accessible databases, and print resources. Presents on requests for information literacy sessions, including class tours and instruction in the use of library resources. Recommends library purchases of electronic, media, and print resources. Responds to distance education requests for library services including email, telephone, and online course requests.

2. IT Help Desk Services: Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues for students and faculty related to IT problems via phone, email or in person. Problems include but are not limited to password resets, email and learning management system. Assist students and faculty with technical questions regarding basic usage related to computers and software such as printing, saving files, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, publishing, multimedia and course tutorials. Keep track of all work done in a ticketing system

3. Other Duties: Keeps statistics on all aspects of IT and reference services provided and reports this information monthly to the directors. Performs cataloging duties, including supervising, scheduling, and checking work performed by others. Provides and supervises support for evening adjunct faculty needs. Cooperates with circulation services and works at circulation desk. Supervises evening circulation services. May travel to off-campus sites to provide library and/or IT training. Works effectively with all areas of the college. Serves on campus committees as appointed.
