Minimum Qualifications :

  • Master's of Business Administration degree or other Masters with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in a Business and Technology area (Accounting, Business, Logistics, Information Systems, Computer Programming and/or Cyber Defense) from a regionally accredited college or university by the appointment date.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidate with previous community college teaching experience and Industry Certifications.
  • Preference will be given to the candidate with course development experience and credentials to teach in multiple disciplines (i.e. Accounting, Business, Logistics, Information Systems, Computer Programming, and/or Cyber Defense).


General Function:

The faculty member will conduct classes in compliance with Department of Business and Technology and Motlow policy. They will work as part of a team to maintain academic integrity, and curriculum development. Faculty teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per fall and spring semesters or a combination of teaching courses and course development/re-design. Faculty members report to the appropriate administrative leader and assists the Curriculum Chair in the management and execution of all aspects of their programs. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance and grade reporting, committee service, monitoring student progress as well as compliance with all appropriate Motlow, state, and federal regulations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• They will collaborate with Business and Technology faculty, curriculum chair, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs.

• Travel to multiple campuses

• Work as part of a team

• Teach a 15 credit hour load in fall and spring semesters or a combination of teaching courses and developing/redesigning courses (summers voluntary)

• Advise and mentor students about academic and career goals

• Serve on college committees

• Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus

• Submit all requested paperwork timely and complete

• Respond quickly to the Dean's requests

• Participate in graduation exercises

• Support curricular and extracurricular activities within the college

• Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline

• Teach dual enrollment classes as needed

• Post and maintain office hours which provide adequate time for academic advisement with students; out-of-class meetings with students and colleagues; and faculty, division, and departmental meetings.
