General Function:

This exempt position is responsible for helping the college achieve a variety of critical objectives in support of recruitment, instruction, student services, career placement, and athletics. This individual must be adaptive, flexible, and able to transition between dynamic assignments in order to meet the college's changing project and program needs related to enrollment, instruction, students, campus activities, and athletics.

Minimum Qualifications :

Demonstrated portfolio of professional video and photography work.

Preferred Qualifications :

1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

2. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree photo-journalism, film, digital design/production or a related field with a proven ability to learn additional technical skills.

3. Demonstrated ability to perform in interdisciplinary areas including business, retail, basic accounting/finance/spreadsheet skills, event management, social media engagement/management, writing for publication, writing for different audiences and purposes, management of complex computer apps and widgets, photography, videography, branding, advertising, public relations, and marketing.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

(Duties and responsibilities listed are examples of work performed and may be modified as needs of the College may dictate)

1. Will work to produce content that features and celebrates college, instructional, program, student, alum, workforce development, and partnership achievements and milestones. This includes, but is not limited to:

a. Photo essays of Motlow's faculty achievements, student success stories, successful alums, college teams, school clubs, projects, etc.

b. Distribution of such information on various topics using various mediums/channels.

c. Targeted outbound digital messaging campaigns such as broadcast email and social media.

2. May travel domestically with groups to document college milestones/achievements as assigned.

3. Schedule and host interviews, photo/video shoots to support feature articles and produce content for college publications.

4. Must be proficient in studio photography techniques.

5. Must be proficient in lighting techniques.

6. Must be proficient in videography: both studio and location work.

7. Must be proficient in all forms of content development, both narrative and graphic, for various types of venues, publications, and mediums. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing, imagery, and speech.

8. Must be proficient in 35mm technology, digital photography, professional grade videography, and associated software post-production tools.

9. Must be able to proof well and prevent grammatical mistakes, author brief articles, author cutlines, author marketing copy, author news releases, author advertising content, author social media content, and author web content.

10. Must be able to effectively carry out a variety of online exchanges.

11. Must be proficient in computer skills necessary for webpage management, transfer of digital files and other large capacity digital assets.

12. Must demonstrate an ongoing ability to protect proprietary information, maintain confidentiality, and observe FERPA obligations in the context of highly public messaging. Must obtain photo consent forms for all human imagery-in keeping with appropriate policies.

13. Must be proficient in Adobe Create Cloud/Suite products included, but not limited to: Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro/Clip, After Effects, Illustrator, Audition, Prelude, Story, and Media Encoder.

14. Must be proficient in a wide variety of social media platforms included, but not limited to: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.

15. Must present a portfolio of work reflecting ability to meet these essential duties.

16. If selected, must be able to present letters of reference that validate portfolio work.

17. Must successfully execute simple, timed, on-demand performance assessments of writing abilities, basic graphic design abilities, and photography/videography technical skills as part of the interview process and, if selected, maintain such skillsets in an ever-expanding capacity.

18. Produce effective work products using PC and Microsoft Office software especially Excel, as well as peripherals like webcams, printers, and scanners.

19. Have and maintain a demonstrated history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.

20. Have and maintain solid written, verbal, group presentation, and communication skills. Prefer experience in organizing and presenting reports and presentations.

21. Have and maintain precise attention to detail and ability to follow explicit directions, processes, and policies.

22. Have and maintain excellent communication skills along with a helpful disposition necessary to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts.

23. Have and maintain the ability to multi-task and handle a high-pressure environment with timeline pressures. Have and maintain the ability and willingness to work a varied work schedule to accommodate the needs of the college/students.

24. Work effectively and productively as a team member. Keep others informed of information needed. Treat others with respect, maintaining a spirit of cooperation as outlined by supervisor. Maintain effective and professional verbal and written interactions with peers, customers, supervisors and other staff. Use diplomacy and tact in dealing with difficult situations or people. Demonstrate effective listening skills. Be receptive to constructive feedback.

25. Maintain acceptable overall attendance record, to include department meetings, all-employee meetings/trainings as required. Ensure appropriate notification to supervisor for absences, and ensure that scheduled/deadline work is covered when absent. Be flexible in work schedule as needed. Follow all TBR and Motlow policies.

26. Produce the quantity of work necessary to meet job requirements. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to accept and handle new assignments, changes in procedures and business requirements. Identify what needs to be done and take appropriate action. Complete assigned work on time; meet deadlines without reminders/follow-up from supervisor or others. Perform work conscientiously with a high degree of accuracy.

27. Must dress to represent the college publicly either in approved branded wear or professional business attire.

28. Other duties as assigned.

29. M ust be able to work in a multi-tasked, high-volume environment, completing multiple and competing priorities. Daily attendance is required to meet the needs of students and prospective students. Attendance is required at meetings and in-service, some of which may be out of the area. Schedules may fluctuate to accommodate College needs, deadlines and delivery of services. Long periods of sitting and/or standing required. Extended periods of typing/data entry and editing are required. Duties include work and interaction with students, staff, faculty and the public. Independent travel to by car is required to enable flexibility to work at alternate campuses when needed. Work schedule will be as needed and required by administration to accomplish assigned duties.
