Minimum Qualifications :

Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years' full-time paid working experience with computer graphic design development; proficient use of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Office; proven ability to effectively communicate marketing messages through graphics and advertisements.

General Function:

This position is responsible for producing the graphic design for print, digital, and electronic media use; and assisting in the development and implementation of the College's marketing/advertising plan.

It will support the Vice President of External Affairs & Workforce Innovation organizational branding efforts by managing project assignments with a lens that bridges collateral design with other creative efforts that impact corporate identity. Translates leadership vision and objectives into effective, compelling, well-executed, and results-oriented creative outputs. Assists the VP with a variety of research obligations including end-user experience, consumer segmentation, identifying unmet needs, concept testing, copy testing, and driver analysis.

Supports the efforts of the VP by helping ensure that the execution of intra-departmental creative assignments collectively support image-building. Ensures consistency across design, production, and experiential outputs. Guides inter-departmental collaborative creative processes as directed and with actionable unbiased recommendations on how to move organizational needs forward by delivering solutions that surprise and delight key users/stakeholders. Focuses on achieving institutional outcomes within the context of departmental requests.

Serve as a creative co-leader in process improvement of all visually-driven stakeholder experiences. Provide peer-guidance and engage collegiate partners in striving for and achieving growing levels of creative quality in the context of best practices, peer institution benchmarks, market competition, and demonstrated outcomes.

Demonstrate positive, proactive enthusiastic, and encouraging energy and guidance that fosters the creative engagement of others involved in projects that need to achieve collaborative success within an established creative vision.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and implementation the College's marketing and advertising plans to raise awareness of programs and services, to communicate the vision, mission and goals of the institution, to recruit and retain students, and provide visibility for Motlow within its 11-county service area;
  • Creates and designs computer graphics and provides layout for the institution's marketing materials such as, brochures, flyers, posters, annual reports, fact books, view books, invitations, and athletic schedules and programs;
  • Creates and designs customized advertisements for targeted markets and messaging for print and online publications;
  • Maintains files, samples, reports, etc for historical and reporting purposes;
  • Works with various print and media vendors to get quotes, sample papers, etc.;
  • Assists in the development of and distribution of marketing and recruiting materials;
  • Assists with departmental budget; and
  • Serves on campus committees
