ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT FOR EQUITY & INCLUSION

CLEVELAND STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE - Assistant to the President for Equity and Inclusion 

The Assistant to the President for Equity & Inclusion will have primary responsibility for supporting and advancing a campus culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and cultural humility at Cleveland State. This position will lead the college community in the design and implementation of an equity plan that will guide campus-wide decisions, practices and policies.

Requirements of the Position

•Master’s degree in higher education leadership, public administration, human resources or a related field.
•Five years of full-time professional experience in higher education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•    Advise the President and campus constituents on institutional matters relating to diversity, inclusion and educational equity.
•    Provide leadership in the development and implementation of an equity plan which will include short and long-term goals, objectives and strategies for campus-wide diversity, equity and inclusion and ensure alignment with the college’s mission and strategic plan.
•    Provide guidance and support to individuals, departments and programs in identifying policies, practices and other factors that result in inequitable outcomes and explore and implement evidence-based practices and interventions which lead to equitable outcomes
•    Re-establish and provide leadership for the Equity & Inclusion Committee 
•    Collaborate with the Academic Affairs and Student Services offices and other appropriate departments to support the infusion of culturally relevant pedagogy and practices into the college curricula and programs
•    Partner with the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness to integrate disaggregated data and an equity mindset into all research, planning implementation and assessment processes, including annual campus climate surveys, and development and tracking of success indicators

•    Investigate and make recommendations related to the resolution of sexual harassment, discrimination, and grievances filed by employees and/or applicants for employment and assists with student complaints  
•    Maintains a monitoring system to assure compliance with applicable Federal and State legislation and regulations
•    Assists in the development and implementation of the various grievance procedures
•    Consult with TBR General Counsel relative to laws, regulations, policies and guidelines.
•    Serve as the Title IX, Title VI Officer for the College.
•    Provide guidance and compliance in all matters relating Title IX and Title IV with related local, state/TBR, and federal laws and guidelines 
•    Consult with TBR General Counsel relative to laws and regulations in complaints and alleged violations
•    Coordinate and monitor all activities necessary for compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
•    Provide Title IX and Title VI training for employees and students
