Executive Director (Workforce Development)

Reporting to the Vice President for Economic and Community Development, this position will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision in workforce development at Chattanooga State Community College, including its expansive regional service area. This senior staff member will serve the College as it seeks to fulfill and expand the training and partnership opportunities with business, industry and community members.
He/she will be responsible for a group of diverse, complex operations of various programs located throughout the service area such as: local business & industry workforce development needs: planning and organization of training operations that are flexible and accelerated based on the needs of B&I partners;
Position requires a seasoned level of expertise and savvy to examine, understand, elevate, and advocate for the College’s workforce, training, community education, and business development role in the region through long-term relationship and partnership building among internal and external constituents.

Serves as adviser to the Vice President regarding community relations and in fulfilling workforce training needs of local and regional business and industry.
-Assists the Vice President in creating and maintaining strategic alliances and building long-term relationships with economic development entities, corporations, community groups, local, state and federal agencies, local K-12s, etc.
-Leads the corporate training and workforce development team to advance strategies for a self-sustaining, revenue-generating organization with related performance measures.
-Provides vision, mission and collaborative implementation strategies for cutting-edge educational and training programs.
-Identifies and attracts public and private funding opportunities to support workforce, economic and community education programs.
-Serves as needed with the Vice President and the President represents the College at various local, regional and national community events.
