Staff Physician

As a member of a primary care practice at Health Services, reporting to the Clinical Director of Health Services, the Staff Physician provides patient-focused primary care to all students attending Brown University throughout the year. In addition, the staff physician participates as a supervisor and consultant to Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant providers at Health Services as requested. Other administrative duties include participation in Quality Improvement activities and other duties assigned to support the achievement of the mission and goals of Brown Health Services.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine ( MD ) or Doctor of Osteopathy ( DO ) Degree
- Rhode Island Medical License and DEA license prior to appointment
- Board Certification in primary care specialty (internal medicine, pediatrics or family medicine)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of demonstrated post residency experience in ambulatory primary care or two year fellowship in adolescent medicine preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse population, ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with parents, staff, and others
- Demonstrated ability to work with computers including comfort with electronic health records, email and word processing.
- Experience working with college population, experience in office gynecology, experience in office orthopedics and experience or training in sports medicine preferred.
