Brown's Health Services team has two openings for Registered Nurses.

 

The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the health care team at Brown University’s Health Services that serves more than 80% of the diverse student population at Brown.  The RN provides nursing care to students, administers medications and injections, performs ancillary testing and nursing procedures as indicated and provides patient education.  The Registered Nurse is also responsible for providing triage to patients who present or call Health Services for assessment, treatment and/or advice.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Valid Rhode Island RN license required
  • 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience required, with a mix of ambulatory, emergency room and community health preferred
  • College health / adolescent health experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Experience with electronic health records
  • Ability to provide culturally competent care to a diverse population required; experience working with diverse student populations preferred

 

Please note:  This 12 month position is scheduled to work 4-5 days per week during the academic year, as well as varied weeks during the summer based on staffing needs.  Rotation to evenings and weekends will be required during the academic year.
